STADSLAB

Lublin Student City

The fall Master Class 2008 for young European architects and urban designers will be focused on the Polish regional capital Lublin. The theme of the Master Class will be Lublin Student City.

It has been said that if a city can keep its graduates, they will stay on living in your town. Can a university be a catalyst for urban development? In the Master Class we will address issues related to this question, such as on Urban Housing (how to propose to students to inhabit the city), Public space on the move (how the students' urban life is creative for some districts and affects public space) and Technopolis (how to spatially connect new technology firms and University research) etc.

We offer a three month program (September - November) consisting of:

Work practice in leading Dutch architectural and urban design firms (OMA, INBO, Buro 5, MVRDV, BDG etc.)

Three intensive Master Class sessions, supervised by Didier Rebois (Europan Europe) and other international experts.

Field trips (Lublin & Netherlands, round table conferences ands seminars on various topics of personal professional development.
