The II Intelligent Coast International Symposium aims at fomenting the I+D+I and creating, in this second edition, a place of meeting, discussion and opinion about the development strategies of the coastal urban concentrations of the XXI century. This year the II Intelligent Coast International Symposium will address the limits, strategies and indicators that define the competitiveness of urban concentrations on the basis of its urban-productive, strategic-infrastructure and managerial-tourist models. It has the objective of gathering intellectuals, businessmen and politicians to debate and take a stand about three main issues:
1- Which are the geographical, population related, economical and environmental boundaries and which the influential area of a coastal metropolitan region whose economy is dominated by tertiary and quaternary sectors (TIC)?
2- What role do the physical and digital infrastructure networks play nowadays in the development and planning of a coastal tourist metropolis? 3- Which are the most appropriate indicators to measure the level of competitiveness of a coastal tourist metropolis?
